Gram, You have been there for me for so many years. From summers at your house, in the pool, the garden and the garage to summer vacation trips to FL, Canada and Holland MI. You tought me how read a map and how to garden and how to cook. You pulled me thru the pickup cab window while chocking on a chicken bone and nursed my burned leg after I fell in the campfire and Christi's leg after I spilled stir-fry on her. You have always put family first with an emphasis on meals. You are the only person I know that would work all night but get up every hour to stir the gravy and fry meatball. You have set an example for Christi and I making our love language with our family food as well. The same as what you showed us. You led by example without knowing it or us realizing. I get up every morning at 5:45am to make my kids breakfast before school. I learned that from YOU! One of my favorite summer meals was Ciambotta. Something I will be making very soon in memory of you. And I use your handwritten gravy and meatball recipe all the time. It will be handed down. Love and Miss you.
