Benito Sopranzetti Obituary
Benito Sopranzetti, of Vineland passed away on September 28, 2025. Benito "Benny" loved life. After immigrating to the US as a young man in the early 1960s, he settled in Vineland where he built his home and raised his family.
He distinguished himself professionally as a highly respected and in-demand carpenter and millwright. His favorite activities were spending time in his yard, driving his old Oliver tractor, tending to his vegetable garden and numerous fruit trees, making wine and prosciutto, canning tomatoes and fruits, and walking in the woods.
He enjoyed spending time in "the coop," where he hosted many polenta parties and spaghetti and crab gatherings. He was a master at building and fixing things – a quintessential jack of all
trades – and could usually be found back in "the shop" repairing or making things for his friends and his church. He also enjoyed fishing and crabbing.
Benny is remembered as a strong, vibrant man with a zest for life and a deep love of family. He is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter and son-in-law Rita and Phil; son Benito Jr; and his grandchildren Peter, Melissa and Irina. He was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man and he will be deeply missed.
A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10am to 12pm followed
a funeral service at 12pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
