Obituary of William Martine

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of William Louis Martine, on the morning of July 28th, 2025, at the age 75. Surrounded by his family at his final moments, he is remembered for his amazing sense of humor and kindhearted personality. William was born on August 14th, 1949, in Vineland, NJ to William Peter Martine and Mary Elizabeth Martine. After Graduating from Vineland High School in 1968, William enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served four honorable years. He met the love of his life, Deborah Propert, during his time of service, and they married on July 24th, 1971. After the completion of his military career in 1972, William worked odd jobs until he found his career with IBEW Local 351. William enjoyed many things about life, most of which involved him being in the sun. Some of his favorite places to relax were Wildwood, NJ where he most recently resided, or Cancun, Mexico where he loved vacationing with his wife. He also enjoyed cruising around in his convertible mustang or anchoring his boat at Sunset Lake in Wildwood, NJ. As a devout Catholic since childhood, William showed his dedication to the church in many ways. He rarely missed a Sunday mass which led to him volunteering as an usher. He also volunteered his services in the community at the Lazarus House Emergency Food Pantry, which is a catholic based charity. And, he even had his beloved dogs blessed on Saint Francis' Day, the Patron Saint of animals. William's generosity extended further than his religion. In retirement, William enjoyed his time joining many clubs. His involvement included memberships to the North Italy Beneficial Association (Vineland, NJ), Loyal Order of Moose Wildwood #585, Cape May County Emerald Society, American Legion (Wildwood, NJ), Veterans of Foreign Wars (Wildwood, NJ), and Knights of Columbus (Wildwood, NJ). William is survived by his wife, Deborah; his sons William (Stacey) and Robert (Rebecca); his grandchildren Abigail, Daphne and Eleanor; his sisters Carol (Michael) and Patricia (Matthew); and his brother James (Rhonda). A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, August 6th at 11:00 am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family.
