Obituary of Adele Greenblatt

Adele Sondra Greenblatt, 86, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on June 23, 2025. Adele was born on January 4, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, to Albert and Leola Segal. Adele was incredibly proud of her Philadelphia roots and went on to graduate from Temple University. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanton Greenblatt of Vineland, NJ, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership. A dedicated leader, Adele served on the National Board of Hadassah, where she channeled her deep passion for advocacy, service, and the well-being of others. She continued this important work during her time at Riderwood, where she was an active member of the advocacy community. Adele enjoyed a full and vibrant life. She was an avid player of Bridge, Canasta, Mahjong, and Hand and Foot. Summers in Ocean City, NJ, held a special place in her heart, where she loved spending time with family and getting lost in a good book. She also found immense joy in singing with her choir in Lake Worth, Florida. Her Jewish faith was a cornerstone of her identity and values; she cooked an incredibly mean latke-and chocolate chip cake. She was a longtime member of Beth Israel Synagogue in Vineland, NJ. Adele was the sun at the center of her family's universe. She is survived by her loving daughters: Beth Goldberger and her husband Edward Goldberger of North Potomac, MD, and Melissa Patz and her husband Bruce Patz of Needham, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Jonathan Greenblatt and Ellen Espenschied, Brian Greenblatt, Michael and Amanda Greenblatt, Lauren Goldberger and Jack Ressel, Rachel Goldberger, Emma Patz, Abby Patz, and Hannah Patz; and great-grandmother to Kayden Greenblatt and Elliot Greenblatt. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanton Greenblatt, as well as her cherished sons Barry Greenblatt and Kenneth Greenblatt. From her childhood in Philadelphia, to her many years in Vineland and Lake Worth, and finally to her brief but meaningful time at Riderwood, she nurtured and sustained countless friendships throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of calling her a friend. Adele will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family and community, her sense of humor, her wit, her absolute dominance in Gin Rummy, and her fabulous, red nails.
