Obituary of Elvis Rijo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elvis Rijo at the age of 51 on May 23, 2025. Elvis was a warm, kindhearted man that loved to take care of his family. Everyone that met him would agree he was memorable, and his sense of humor was contagious. He had a gift of making people feel welcome within the first five minutes of meeting them. He was also a great leader, strong-willed and could accomplish anything he set his mind to. Elvis was a loving husband for thirty-one years to his wife April Rijo and a dedicated and loving father to his two daughters Chloe and Marie. Elvis was born in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from George Westinghouse High School. He began his career as a locksmith in New York City and moved to Buena, New Jersey in 2006 where he continued his career in lock and door work and Masonry. He perfected his craft over the years and became a master of his trade. He worked as a Building Maintenance Crew Supervisor at South Woods State Prison where he was loved by so many. Elvis took great pride in his supporting and loving family and enjoyed traveling to see his mother, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins in New York City along with taking trips to Florida whenever he had the opportunity. He was a food connoisseur always searching for new things to try and experience. His heart's joy was cooking for everyone and seeing everyone bonding over a good meal. He will always be remembered for making people feel welcomed and loved and how much he wanted to take care of everyone. Elvis is survived by his wife April and two daughters Chloe and Marie, his Mother Guillermina Villafane, his Father-in-law Joseph Medio, Mother-in-law Mary Medio, Brothers Jose Rijo along with his wife Lisa Rijo, Kenneth Rijo along with his wife Marilyn Rivera, Carlos Rijo, Jorge Rijo and Franklin Rijo, Sisters Wanda Rijo, Gisela Rijo, Yveliz Rijo and Sister-in-law Marilyn Medio along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
