Obituary of Cheryl D Girimonte

Cheryl "Cherie" Girimonte, 76, of Newfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Inspira Medical Center in Elmer on January 24, 2025 Originally from Philadelphia, Cherie resided most of her life in Newfield NJ where her family owned and operated the Newfield Tavern. For many years Cherie also spent her nights caring for her patients at Newcomb hospital In Vineland where she worked as an LPN. After Retirement Cherie dedicated her time to her family and her church. To her family she was a daughter, a sister, a mother, and an aunt. But the title she held most dear to her heart was "mommom". She absolutely cherished every moment with each of her five grandchildren. Never missing a single one of their life's special moments. To her friends and to her church Cherie was whatever they needed her to be. A willing hand, a shoulder to lean on, someone to talk with or just someone to laugh with over a cup of tea. She wasn't happy unless she was helping others and often putting others before herself. Cherie was a daily reminder that above all it's how you treat people, that is what will be remembered. Her love and selfless nature will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her children, Gina Weis, Daniel and Christina Girimonte and Nicole and Jason Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Michael Evelyn Gianna Jessica Julia and Evan and her nieces and nephews, Christina Autumn Jennifer Ella Stephen and Peter Jr. Family all of whom will miss her dearly. Cheryl was predeceased by her loving parents Harry and Helene Barr; her sister and brother-in-law Carol and Peter Girimonte and her lifelong partner Lewis "Sonny" Cappellucci Those that knew and loved her are invited to a funeral mass on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11:00am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Saint Rose Of Lima, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield.
