Obituary of Edward Martinelli
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward C. Martinelli, a devoted father, loving husband, cherished grandfather, and beloved brother, on January 30, 2025, at age 83.
Born in Vineland, New Jersey, Edward was the beloved husband of Sandy (nee Polmonari) for 61 years. Cherished father of Edward Christopher "Chris" Martinelli (Cyndi) and Amanda Barrett (Sean). Loving grandfather of Michael, Joseph and John Martinelli; and Aisling, Ronan and Alaina Barrett. Dear brother of Gary Martinelli (Florence, deceased). Uncle of Samuel and Gary Martinelli, Jr.
Edward graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware and began a more than 30-year career as an engineer, plant manager and senior executive at B.F. Goodrich and later The Geon Company. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, served on the Board of the American Red Cross of Northeast Ohio, and was a Founding Member of the Great Lakes Science Center Board of Trustees.
Edward's family was his pride and joy, and he always made time to share his love, laughter, and wisdom with his children and grandchildren.
Edward was an avid golfer and member of Westwood Country Club. His passion for golf was well-known among family, friends and colleagues, and his family is happy to remember that he was able to play some of this country's greatest courses during his lifetime.
Edward's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. Rest in peace, Dad, we promise to pay it forward by carrying on your values, kindness and love you taught us.
Services were held in Ohio and an Entombment will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 2pm from Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding Highway, Mays Landing.
ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Concord Reserve Staff Fund, Hospice of the Western Reserve or Alzheimer's Disease Research (A BrightFocus Foundation Program).
