Obituary of Edna D. Maltese
Edna "Dot" Dorothy Simons Maltese, 86, of Minotola, New Jersey went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2025. She passed peacefully holding the hand of her husband of 69 years.
She was born to the late Helen and Morris D. Simons on December 16, 1938 in Mays Landing, New Jersey. She grew up in the Vineland area and attended Vineland High School. She married Richard Maltese on October 27, 1955 while he was in the US Air Force. They traveled throughout the US and Europe. Dot had three children, Deborh, Dawn and Andrew.
She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, in Spain and in the US. Dot and her husband had a small Christmas tree Farm. Dot was involved in Evergreen Manor ceramics with her daughter Debbie and enjoyed her time in the ceramic shop. Meeting people everyday was a highlight of her time spent there.
She is survived by husband, Richard H. Maltese; daughters, Deborh (Michael Legg) and Dawn (Ken Diffendall); five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Andrew (Rebecca); parents, Helen and Morris Simons; and her brothers, Daniel, Henry and Charles.
A church visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 9:45am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
