Obituary of Paul J. Ambrose Jr.

Paul J. Ambrose Jr., 62, of Milmay, passed away suddenly on September 24, 2017 while running a race to cure childhood cancer. Paul attended Our Lady of Victories elementary school, graduated from Saint Augustine Prep, Saint Joseph's University and Widener University Law School. While in high school he played basketball and ran cross country. Paul worked as an attorney in Sea Isle City, a municipal prosecutor in Avalon, and currently works for Louis P. Canuso Inc. as a sale representative. Paul was a former member of the Menantico Gun Club and the former treasurer of Milmay Fire Department. One of his favorite activities was being a coach of the Girls CYO basketball team at Notre Dame. Paul loved lifting weights, running, gardening, making homemade tomato gravy, canning peppers and crabbing & fishing with his family. He enjoyed vacations at the beach in the sunshine. He attended all of his daughters' basketball games and dance recitals. Paul was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of US history.

He is survived by wife of 36 years, Barbara (Gurdon) Ambrose; daughter & son-in-law, Amanda Leigh & Robert Kliamovich Jr.; daughter, Caitlin Mary Ambrose; his mother Sally (Bullock) Ambrose; brother, Joseph Ambrose; sister-in-law, Cinde Ambrose; brother-in-law, Chris Gurdon; nieces, Rachel Krause (Dan), Hillary Higbee (Cliff), Heather Gurdon, Brianna Gurdon and his nephews, Dominic Ambrose, Patrick Ambrose & Kevin Gurdon. Paul was predeceased by his father, Paul Ambrose Sr and his brother, Thomas Ambrose.

A church visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30am to 10am followed by a memorial mass at 10:00 am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
