Tuesday, January 9, 2018I was so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I first met Al when I started my Vineland teaching career in 1979 at Landis School. We became good friends and stayed in touch even after he left Landis for D'Ippolito Middle School. I was Al's Phillies ticket partner for many years. Although we used the tickets with many friends, I will always remember attending opening day at Citizens Bank Park in 2004 and the 2009 World Series with Al. He always had a great sense of humor and always was a true gentleman. Sincere sympathy to his brother. Rest in Peace my friend...

Sunday, January 7, 2018My deepest sympathy to the family of Al Melini. Ive know Al for about 10 or 11 years as a member of the Avalon golf club and considered him a good friend. I not only golfed with Al a few times but had the pleasure of playing with golf clubs that Al made for me. It wont be the same without him around and I will surely miss him.

Saturday, January 6, 2018So saddened to hear of this. Al was my best friend from early years in Cunningham School through VHS and beyond. We were in each other's wedding party (each drove the other couple to the airport for our honeymoons). So many memories, so much laughter, some tears, but always the memories. I will miss you dearly my friend. May you rest in peace.

Thursday, January 4, 2018Al and I shared a lot of good times at Memorial school on the track team with Pete Kontes and Marv Tharp. Later at VHS we supported each other on basketball and wrestling teams. Al was always good company and a great story teller. We enjoyed dinners out with him and Sally with Hank Schwartz and Camille in our later years. I would bump into Al at basketball games and our long friendship always held true.We could just pick up where ever we left off the last time our paths crossed. He was a great supporter of all our VHS Class of '65 reunions and a popular fixture at the bar! Rest in Peace my friend. My most sincere condolences to his brother Rich. Bill Dudley
