Kevin A. Tirelli

Obituary of Kevin A. Tirelli

Kevin A. Tirelli, 46 of Millville, NJ passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 following a brief illness. Kevin was born and raised in Vineland, NJ, and was a member of the Vineland High School graduating class of 1989. For many years, he was employed as a certified HVAC Technician. He was also well-known as a Charter Fishing Boat Captain, "Cap'n KAT". Among family and friends, "Mr. Fix-It" was called often into action. Kevin could fix anything. On September 20, 1997, Kevin married his high school sweetheart, his beloved "Wifey", Gina (Porreca). They enjoyed 29 years together, more good than bad. Together, Kevin and Gina loved to travel, camp, kayak, take motorcycle rides, and just enjoy good times with family and friends. Everyone was welcomed in their home, as Kevin never met a stranger. Kevin was a colorful character, something it seems like everyone who met him knows - and has a story about. He was fearless, funny, accident prone, and a prankster. He was the "Shot Time Bully" (if you lost to Kevin, you know this well). He never got mad, he just got evener. Kevin loved life and he lived big. He was always ready for an adventure, but was equally content playing cards with his Dad. A devoted Cowboys fan, Kevin never missed a game. He even traveled to Dallas Cowboys' Stadium to see his beloved 'Boys' play, hosted too many to count game day parties, and he ran a fantasy football league for 20 seasons. Kevin was also a devoted patron and supporter of the art of Dance Entertainment. Known for his kindness, sense of humor, huge hugs, and big smile, Kevin had a heart for people, and was everybody's "Unk". He loved his years coaching Artie's baseball and football teams, and more recently could be found cheering him on from the stands of Millville High School Thunderbolts' Stadium. Kevin wanted to "be a cow" when he grew up, and lived his life with enthusiasm, embracing all of the things he loved. He was an avid boater and fisherman, he loved being on the water, especially in the SS Pickle. Kevin was a true woodsman and outdoorsman, often hunting with friends or as a member of Double Oaks, Cedar Buck, and Bobby B's Gun Clubs. He treasured his Harley, and a sunny day was all the motivation that he and Gina needed to take a ride. Kevin will be deeply missed by his wife of 20 years, Gina (Porreca) and his son Artie. He also leaves behind his father, Tony Tirelli of Vineland; brother, Tony Tirelli (Kellie)of Pittsgrove; nephews, Anthony Porreca of Vineland and Richie Porreca (Kamri) of Quinton; nieces, Crystal Porreca of Vineland, Kassidy and Aly Tirelli of Pittsgrove, and Samantha Morris of Elmer; father and mother-in-law, Tony and Teresa Porreca of Vineland; aunts and uncles, Elaine Davis (Larry), Catherine Tirelli, and Joe Tirelli, all of Vineland; great nieces and nephews Gyanna Porreca, Ayden Porreca, Laila Gaynor, Owen Porreca, Giana Vertolli, and Julian Robbins; Godchildren, Brenna Blough, Rosie Crescenzi, Richie Porreca, and Sophia and Samantha Messina. Kevin was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn ( Serrian) Tirelli and sister-in-law, Laurie Porreca. He also leaves behind many special and life-long friends, his "special" friends, and his companions, Trashy and Sal. "Drive it like you stole it"
