Gregory Achinko, 72, of Vineland, passed away Friday morning, January 27, 2017, peacefully and on his terms after battling a lenghty illness. Born in Ukraine to the late Hrehor and Olga Achinko on April 4, 1944, Greg and his family came to America in 1951 to enjoy the true freedomthat all people desreve, settling in Philadelphia. While attending Philadelphia public schools Greg excelled at his first love, soccer, and broke numerous scoring records. Greg's soccer talent led him to several seasons of professional soccer until he met the true love of his life, Vera. Greg and Vera relocated to Vineland where they started a family with the additions of Gregory Achinko III and Natalie. Greg worked for many years in the printing and graphis arts industry, and selflessly worked two jobs at times to ensure that his children completed their college educations. Greg enjoyed assembling perfect sounding audio systems, had a passion for collecting and selling antiques and loved dancing and taking trips with his beloved wife Vera until her untimely passing in 2004. Greg will be deeply missed by every person who knew him or that ever had a chance to meet him.
