Obituary of Rebecca LaSpada

Rebecca ("Becky") E. LaSpada, age 74, of Vineland passed away on May 7th, after a brief illness surrounded by family and friends. Becky was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Joseph and Nettie (Garofalo) LaSpada. She attended school in Philadelphia and began to dance on American Bandstand with Dick Clark. Shortly thereafter she joined the Marines. She eventually moved to Vineland where she spent many years waitressing at many establishments including Presidential Diner, Inn on the Mall, Neptune, Cattle Baron, Midway Inn, Pegasus and Brewster Villa. Becky also worked as a counselor at a center helping abused women and children, Shop Rite and as a cafeteria worker for the Vineland Board of Education. Her most recent employment was with Sheppard Bus Service as an aide. Becky enjoyed crocheting and made many quilts, christening outfits and baby blankets for her family and friends. Becky is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Nettie (Garofalo) LaSpada, brother, Salvatore ("Sonny") Lovecchio, cherished sister-in-law, Elsie Lovecchio, and her precious niece, Faith Johnson. She is survived by nephews, Paul (Sandy) Lovecchio of Vineland, Rick (Rose) Lovecchio of Florida, Kurt Johnson of California and niece Allysa Johnson of California, along with many great nieces and nephews and cousins. Becky also leaves behind her beloved "girls" Cyndel and Angel, who gave her many years of companionship and special friends, Rosie Ulrich, Linda Ulrich-Davis and family, Mary Giovinazzi and Rick Schwegal, along with many other friends she has met through her lifetime. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone's Funeral. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, 524 N.W.
