Obituary of James A Cavaliero

James A. Cavaliero, born February17, 1924. The youngest of ten children born to Frank and Lucia Cavaliero in Vineland, N.J. passed away at home on August 24, 2015 after being in declining health for several years. His family was by his side. Jim attended Sacred Heart School. During World War II he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Pacific Theater participating in the invasion of Okinawa, and was also on Guam and Guadalcanal. Subsequently, he was deployed to China in preparation for a possible invasion of Japan. Jim worked most of his life in the construction business as a heavy equipment operator. In the early 70's he started his own black top paving company, J&G Paving. He finished his working career as a maintenance man at Landis Shop Rite. Jim was an avid sports fan and his love for the St Louis Cardinals was legendary. He was predeceased by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. Jim is survived by his wife of 74 years Ann (Spear), his six children, Patricia, J. Greg (Violet), Christine Mascolo, (Louis), Linda, Michael, (Carol Metcalf), and TJ., six grandchildren, James Jr. and Olivia, John and Christine, Kelly and James Young, Emily and Michael Scalero, Jessica and James Day, Amanda Crane and Tim DeLouise and seven great grandchildren with two on the way; and his special niece Sharon Colan and her daughters Cherie and Debby and his sisters-in-law, Eileen Cavaliero and Hattie Cavaliero.
