Obituary of John J Mennone

John J. Mennone, 82, of Vineland, passed away suddenly at home early Thursday morning, May 7th. John was born and raised in Vineland and was a Vineland High School graduate. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served from 1951 to 1955. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Institute in Miami, FL in 1958 for aviation mechanic. John began his career as an airline mechanic with Capitol Airlines in Washington, D.C. in 1958. When Capitol merged with United Airlines, he was reassigned to Philadelphia Int'l Airport where he continued his career with United for over 36 years until his retirement in 1994. John thoroughly enjoyed his retired life. He spent time traveling, crabbing, walking and doing crosswords. He loved being outside and working in his yard and garden. He loved life, but most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anna (DiPaolo). Three children, Joanne Mennone, Patricia Croce (Timothy), and Lisa Fulfs, two grandsons, Matthew and Nathaniel Croce. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. John was predeceased by 3 brothers, Andrew, Pasquale, and Anthony Mennone and 4 sisters, Pauline D'Agostino, Charlotte Farside, Diane Melfi, and Margaret Paterno. Private funeral services were held Saturday, May 9th under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service.
