Obituary of Marilyn Porcaro

Marilyn M. (Martin) Porcaro,84, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, December 11, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was born to Thomas and Elizabeth (Nutzel) Martin on January 19, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. After completing her elementary and high school education at St. Mathias in Brooklyn, Marilyn attended and graduated from The Long Island College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She later met and fell in love with her future-to-be husband, Dr. Frank Porcaro at Brooklyn Hospital. Marilyn and Frank married in 1956 and later moved to Vineland in 1959. Together they started his local practice in their home on Sawyer Avenue after dinner, their living room turned into a waiting area and their family room into the examination room, eventually moving the practice to Oak Road. Marilyn dabbled in real estate and investments, when she wasnt helping out Frank. She enjoyed a wide array of intersets including dining out, traveling, history, reading, painting, the theatre, museums, horseracing, classic movies and game shows to name a few. She loved spending time in Arizona and Sea Isle City and spending many summers as a child in the Catskill mountains. She always looked forward to Sunday pasta dinners. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Marilyn was very generous and contributed to many charities.
