Obituary of Royce C Vanaman

Royce C. Vanaman, 70, of Richland passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hammonton on October 4, 1944 to Anthony Ciarlante Sr. and Florence Vanaman Merighi. Before his retirement he worked as an electrician for IBEW Local 592/351 for 50 years and supervised major projects for SM Electric of Rahway, NJ. Upon his early retirement he found great joy at his Ocean City, MD home where he loved entertaining friends and took pride in preparing Italian specialties such as pastas, St. Joseph Day pants and pizzas. Royce had a big smile, a generous warm heart and a captivating personality which led to many friendships. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid trap shooter traveling around the country. He was the recipient of numerous trophies and awards of which he took pride. Royce was a member of the Sinapuxent Gunning Club (MD), the South End Gunning Club (Reading, PA), the Pine Belt Gunning Club, the Landisville Gunning Club, the Landisville Social Club, the Diamond Social Club, the Pennsylvania State Trap Shooting Association and the Millville Elks. He was survived by his loving daughter Toni Anne and her husband Paul Galletta, the light of his life his three grandchildren Alyssa, Dante and Paul Galletta all of Hammonton, his brothers and their wives, Benjamin and Doris Merighi of Vineland, Milford and Connie Merighi of Mullica Hill and August and Eleanor Merighi of Buena. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Marie Potenski and her family and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his devoted daughter Michele Vanaman Maroney in 2013. Funeral home visitations will be on Friday evening, November 7, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm and again on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8:30am to 10:15am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Burial will be in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville, NJ. Donations in memory of Royce may be made to: 1.
