Anthony F. Napoli, MD, 79
Physician
Dr. Anthony "Tony" Napoli passed away at his residence, and went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2010, with his loving wife, Norma at his side.
Dr. Napoli was born on July 30, 1930, the son of Pasquale and Maria Napoli. He grew up in Richland and Landisville before moving to Vineland in 1941. He graduated Vineland High School in 1949, Villanova in 1953, and Hahnemann University Medical School in 1957. He completed his internship at Hahnemann in 1958 and then began his family practice in Vineland. While in practice he served on the Medical Staff at Newcomb Medical Center, was Chairman of the Family Practice Department, Vice Chairman of the Emergency Room Department, and a Vineland Public Schools physician for 37 years. He was selected by the community in a 1990 Journal survey as the best physician in town. He retired in 1998 after 40 years of dedicated family practice. He received the Gregor Mendel Award from St. Augustine Preparatory School in 1991 for his strong Christian faith and commitment to family and community. He served as a role model and mentor for the many fortunate people who came to know him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends because of his unconditional love and genuine concern for others. Dr. Anthony was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and, in recent years, of St. Isidore the Farmer Church. Besides spending time with his beloved family, he enjoyed playing pinochle, dining with friends and watching Villanova basketball and Notre Dame football.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma (DiPaola); his son, Dr. Anthony Jr. and daughter-in-law, Diane of Voorhees; his son, Francis and daughter-in-law, Joanne of Vineland; his daughter, Andrea and son-in-law, Vaughn Derassouyan of Langhorne, PA; his daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Dr. Gaetano Pastore of Avondale, PA; his son, Brian of Boston, MA; his sister, Angelina Montresor of Vineland; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Michael Martinelli of Vineland; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Anthony and Jean DiPaola of Vienna, VA; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, and Serena Napoli, Alexandria Derassouyan, Mia, Luke, and Gianna Pastore, and many nieces and nephews.
Church visitations will be held from 6-9 pm Wednesday and 9:00-10:30 am Thursday at St. Isidore the Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 am Thursday at St. Isidore the Farmer Church. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Garden Mausoleum, Walnut Rd., Vineland.

"Uncle Tony" was my next door neighbor until 7th grade and I have many happy memories on DeShibe Terrace. Dr. Napoli was also our family Doctor; he pierced my ears when I was in High School. Son, Anthony is now our Pedatrician. He is gentle and caring, just like his dad was. The Napoli family was there for anyone who needed their help. I remember this especially when my dad was sick. My love and prayers are with them at this time.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I have had the pleasure of knowing Brian for almost four years now and it's always been obvious to me that he comes from a loving and warm family. When he talked about his father I could tell that he was a very good man, especially to his family and community.
